What is Macrobiotic Cuisine?

It is the most traditional way of eating, a diet consisting of whole foods which are mostly vegetable quality – grains, legumes, land vegetables, sea vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. This diet is supplemented with small amounts of meat and fish and some dairy, depending on one’s condition. The vegetable-food quality allows for the easiest digestion, freeing one’s vital energy for physical activity, rejuvenation, and spiritual pursuits. All organic quality is recommended in order to avoid encumbering toxins. Unique yet varied cutting and cooking styles are also recommended, for acquiring the optimal balance and dynamic, energetic nourishment from your food. Seasonal Cooking is essential, implementing the variety of foods that are fresh and locally grown, the quintessential bounty of one’s environment, which, in turn, allows one to adapt most efficiently to the changing climate with harmony and balance.
